As of March 2021, Key Traceability Ltd. has overseen the creation of 20 industry-led Fishery Improvement Projects (FIPs) worldwide, ensuring the progress of fisheries across the globe along the sustainability pathway. Through doing this, Key Traceability has become a global leader, not only in the implementation of FIPs, but also in the completion of fishing vessel social audits.
Adapting to the global pandemic has meant that Key Traceability has managed to maintain some visibility of social accountability in fisheries by completing remote social audits. Key Traceability has interviewed a thousand crew members from 19 different nationalities, and covering almost 200 vessels in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. The undertaking of these activities makes Key Traceability an integral component in upholding the safety and sustainability of the seafood supply chain for future generations.
